Non-furniture related ramifications of the Red Sox competing in the World Series
The professor for whom I'm a TA likes to tell this story: In 2004, she scheduled a midterm for her graduate class. Not being a baseball fan, she had no idea that the scheduled date was in the middle of the postseason. In fact, it was the morning after Game 4 of the ALCS. And every single one of her students flunked the exam.
This morning, we realized that this semester's midterm is scheduled for the morning after Game 6 of the World Series. Rather than gamble, we're bumping it back to November 6. We also have a screening set for the night of Game 7, which we're moving up to 6pm so class members (and TAs) can hustle over to the Tam afterwards in time for a potential first pitch.
This is the kind of professor I aspire to be.

Have I told you that Jason and I have adopted the Tam as our bar?? They make strong gin and tonics. We'll have to meet there for one of the WS games.
