On the changing of seasons (somewhat prematurely)

My heat-worshiping friends and acquaintances will probably hate me for this, but I'm glad that summer's winding down. It's been exhausting.

My Ultimate season wrapped up on Saturday, leaving me with a new spirit disc, a few black and blues, and several gallons of New Jersey sand in my car. The last of my co-workers found out that I'm leaving in two weeks and subsequently started piling on the requests. I start meeting with my adviser for my directed study soon, so it won't be long before I'm unmasked as an academic fraud who knows next to nothing about Media Studies. And, for no apparent reason, I'm moving on September 1, and the thought of putting everything in boxes again terrifies me (though not as much as the thought of moving several more blocks away from Toad).

Despite all that, I'm excited. Fall is always full of promise, right?
