Things you could not pay me medium-sized amounts of money to do
1. Go to the Hogwarts Square party on Friday. And I like Draco and the Malfoys. They've got chops!
I love Harry Potter as much as the next literate adult, and I love independent bookstores. I also hate crowds. Anyone in a similar boat would do well to pre-order at Brookline Booksmith, or Porter Square Books, or Pretty Much Anywhere That is Not the Harvard Coop.
2. See the new Transformers movie. My God, that looks terrible.
Comments
Bumblebee is a friggin' Camaro. Or maybe it's a GTO. Either way he's not a bug anymore because they sold out to GM! They destroyed him!

Okay, at the risk of getting 100 lashes with a wet Wagamama noodle and being forever banished from commenting in your journal, I'm about to admit two things.
1) We gave some serious thought to actually attending the Hogwarts Square Party Friday night.
2) We actually went to see Transformers, though in my defense, I will say it was over the 4th of July holiday week when it was raining, and there wasn't a heck of a lot in the theatres we wanted to see at that particular moment. It was a little (okay, more like a lot) short on plot, but excellent special effects and surround sound.
PS. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, now that's a movie worth seeing. Best flick I've seen all summer.

For the record, Jonelle did in fact attend the hogwarts square party, assisting us in drinking a large ceramic mug of Hagrid's Hair of the Dog drink (or something like that) at Grafton street.
I will admit, however, that she did not venture into the yard to hear the horrific performance by Harry and the Potters.
