Dedication to one's pants
I had a small twang of marathon remorse this morning until I saw the pre-race photos of runners slogging around Hopkinton with plastic bags wrapped around their sneakers. The twang promptly faded.
I dutifully tracked my favorite runners, all of whom finished (though none of them were too happy with their times.) Robbie reports that the weather got better once things got rolling:
Robbie: It got warm enough to take off a layer, so I had to carry my wet, heavy pants for 15 miles--
Me: Wait. You carried your pants?
Robbie: Yup.
Me: Why didn't you just leave them?
Robbie: They're good pants!
Kudos to everyone who ran today. So glad I wasn't one of you.
